I am aware of the capabilities of this unit as shown in the instruction manual, but was wondering if it has the capability of searching and displaying vpid and apid information, rather than requiring you to find and enter these parameters.

I know some boxes have hidden capabilities.

If the box is allcammed with tux 2.3 it can display the vpid and apid in use. I don't think it can search for them.

I've got one of them 5400's and I haven't found a way of searching and displaying vpid and apid information. Have to rely upon Lyngemark. For a good unit it is limited in that regard. Limits auto search capabilities.

Is it a 5400 or a 5400Z allcamed means it has been loaded with earlier version of bootloader software.
After this is done u then load the allcam software via the serial port this enables more then one encryption to be decoded by the box.

I have a Humax IRCI-5400Z. You are talking about things I know little (actually, nothing) about, bootloader software.

I had an F1-ACE last year and updated it's software with an newer version downloaded from the Humax site using the receivcer's serial port connected to my computer's serial port . Is this bootloader software??

To be honest I'm not even sure how the conditional access module works on the IRCI-5400Z or how to use it properly. The smart card slot is obvious but I found the booklet that came with the receiver very ordinary indeed. Never mind, gotta start somewhere!

Have you loaded the new version of software to your F1-Ace. I am using Fi-Ace and with software version 1.6. Be glad to find out what's the different if your is newer version. Please post your comment. I'm sure many others also want to find out Dannyboy.

No m8 that would not be bootloader software.
To load the older version of bootloader into the humax u need a board called the Z board.
U have to open the box up and use the Z board with either a needle connection on the end of it or a molex connector.
I have a Z board here so if u need to borrow it and u are willing to pay postage both ways PM me.
Procedure is pretty straight foward as long as u can use a soldering iron i have also some molex connectors if u wish to buy one.
Check the humax hemp site out first.
Hopefully u have one of the humaxes before they put the glue on the part of the motherboard where the molex connector goes.

Be very sure of what your going , before waving a solding iron around in a satellite receiver, as one wrong move and its been converted to a "Door Stop" :cry: :cry:
I feel sure that if you ask "Vic" he would do the mod for you, if you send him the box..
While the instructions might sound simple, things can get complex when your actully doing the job...

I agree, I got mine done by somebody else because for the sake of $50-$100 you wont be left with a door stop.
