Newbie needs help

Hi bought scientific atlanta 9708 ive searched the net cant find a thing about the 9708 it powers up all right can get into menu then im lost,its got smart card slot in the back.Before i get asked it was cheap postage cost more.Can anyone tell me if its a door stop or can i get it working.Thanks Grant

grant, not sure if this will help but most power vu stuff is unbroken or useless without the card.

There is a co that deals in this stuff in OZ, but they only deal in commercial stuff regarding these boxes..

Some useful UHF devices in there. MRF901s , BFR90s etc. They are old but OK for some applications.

It the top cover has enuf vent slots u can use it as a scraper to get the mud of ur boots as well as a door stop

The scientific Atlanta 9708 (Bmac) is not much good for anything.

A while back people were selling them to some Asia country, which could use them for some unknown reason.

I have one sitting in the shed it's main use is to have two buckets off bolts sitting on it.

They will do conventional Analogue IF you can find any
