Powtek + Motek

For you guys that have a Powtek, I've just hooked up a Motek to it, and I set up say, B1 and saved the settings, then pas 8, saved the settings, it works fine, change channels between sats, and the dish finds the right bird...added C1 and every thing fine but the powtek wont save the setting? Even though it says it has, change to say pas8, then go to TVSN? no go, dish stays where it is. Manually shift it with the disEqc menu, no worries...but it wont save it?
I dont really know what the 'step' function is, but tried changing that to no avail. Any ideas?

Did you set each satellite up and set the Diseqc Positioner setting to ON for each satellite (In the Channel Search Menu when you click on a satellite name)?

When you use the Diseqc Positioner menu once you found the satellite did you click on the Save Position button before you exited? (The next selection across from the two arrows).

Thats strange. I'm using my powtek with a vbox which basically works the same way as a motek and mine is working fine. I just change channels and the dish moves.

Try entering the satellite positions, in order of degrees,
154 [b3] 156 [c1] 160 [b1] 166 [pas 8] 169 [pas2]
You will need to strip out all your existing programming and start again...

Thanks Basset, I did that last night, deleted tp's and channels and redid them, didnt work. However, early this morning, I brought up the nss6 sat in the menu, put in a c1 TP and moved the motek. found the bird, pressed save, and hey presto there it was. Deleted the other C1, renamed NSS6 to C1 and now all is good, change channels and the dish moves where ever. Got me buggered why it wouldnt work though?
And I still have to play with elevation and declination coz thats not perfect. (thats if it gets perfect?)
Now I have to try to find NSS again!! What was the freq you said was a good solid one???

You will find that HALF a turn at a time of the declenation bolts will nomally centre the dish on the arc.

Woof good onya.
I think its pretty spot on now planetary wise, but I gotta play with stepper motors now and make a skew adjuster. Im gonna play around with the skew output on the back of the powtek, 12 volt pulse or may be on/off duration?
By the way Bassett when you said about try loading the motek up with b3,c1,pas8,b1 etc, that may have been the answer to the diseqc output of the powtek cox when you put the sats into the memory in the 'orbit order'? they save ok?
I think that makes sense...I've just put the boat away!!!
Any way thanx

Step Setting

To answer the question, the step-setting is how many steps you want the positioner to move everytime you press the Powtek remote to move. ie. The Fine tune movement. I would just set it at 1 and leave it unless you have a very high count actuator.
