Digital TV reception with a Sky Media 200D?

Hello, by the look of things telemann make a few PC satellite receivers. I’ve been offered an old 200D (was used for satellite internet) and am wondering about its FTA Digital TV potential? Officially the card has no mention of anything but I’m wondering if it can be achieved through some manner of software decoding?

Thanks for your help, here are some links:

Thanks for the help guys! Saved me from wasting a bit of money

Vetrun, those links confirmed my suspicions, thanks again.

Anyone know of a decent PC receiver that won’t cost me a fortune? Warnings or preferences? It's either that or taking S-video and digital audio from a set top box through my existing tuner which seems to be the cheaper option at the moment, not sure how much it will hurt image quality though :?

200D can indeed receive FTA and Subscription.
Got on running in a spare pc box.
You will need a program called ProgDVB and the Skymedia300 module.
You do a rename of the DLL and it works fine with the 200D.

I would not pay to much for one, other wise save your pennies and go buy a new card and reciever box.

The 200D SkyMedia cards are great and are worth alot of money,as they have hardware MPEG decoder chips from my limited knowledge.
Most SatPCI cards available in Australia use Software for MPEG decoding which means a fast and dedicated processor is needed and even then picture can breakup alot

They work great with Linux also,if only i could find more of them in Australia.

You could make your own Decoder Box with this card, don't get rid of it.

ProgDVB is a great program...Video over windows LAN..lol
