Angry Dump the humax 5410z - whats best?

Hi Crew, I have put up a Moteck and a 85cm dish at my shack,
I slung out for a Humax 5410z cos it supports Diseqc 1.2 and you can get them cheap from those who are now watching the shopping network. I have tried everything to get this thing to work, I've read the threads followed all that I've read but It still wont work properly.
What happens is that you can enter all the details as per the destructions and the Moteck will go to that position, no worries, the trouble is that it looks for the last Freq. put into the anntenna settings, it doesent matter what you do all the sats end up with the same Freq SR etc.

Now that I've had my winge what STBox's work well with these Motecks? Any and all suggestions would be greatfully accepted.

By the way, 9 months after Tony delivered my C band dish I have finally put it up at home, it's about 15ft up, and well tied down, just have to set it up one day, I hope it not the hassel this Hummax is!.

Thanks Crew

My humax work fine with a moteck. The only problems that they have is if you try to use a diseqc switch with a moteck on a humax.

Do you select the antenna number of the satellite and then load the frequencys for the channels you want?

vetrun, in the destructions it tells you to set up the DisEqC 1.2, I've done that as per the book, then go into the antenna alternative and follow the book, all is fine untill we get to the manual sat search. What ever I enter here shows up on all other satelite alternatives. e.g. if I enter info say a freq of 12658 v 30k 2/3 for B3 move the moteck to B3, no worries she will go their no matter where the dish is pointing b4 hand. then if i enter a freq for C1 e.g. 12720 v 30k 3/4, run the dish from the west past B3 onto C1 thats great, locks in remembers the position. Then enter say for B1 12353 h 5100 3/4 thats great too locks in remembers that position. All sounds good until you try to move to B3 then the moteck moves back to that position, but its looking for the last freq I put in which in this case was 12353 h 5100 3/4 and we all know that there is no such Freq on B3. Ifyou then try C1 it will look for the same 12353 freq and in fact all sats will have that freq, the lot. I've tried cleaning it out with Formula3 and Humbox, I've even tried to reload the with hic1030600.hdf which is the firmware that the set had in the first place and the same thing happens.
What does your system id have? is it the same or another
version?
I just ask this because perhaps an early version might be a fix!!

This is the first time i have used the Humbox and Formular3 programmes, perhaps I'm missing something!!!

Thanks for your reply Wingy

There is nothing wrong with the decoder that's normal .
The way around it is to exit the menu select the saved channel the re-enter menu and the setting will be there or just enter the settings manually. It is also important to use a different antenna for each sat/position.
If you use third party firmware like TUX you can use a motor and Diseqc 1.2 switch.

Hi all, just to let you know I got the Humax working.
When I started to enter details at the start I changed the positions in the Antenna alt. It all looked OK on the Screen but when I had a closer look using the Humbox 4.1, it showed that things were not as was shown on the TV screen. I changed the details in the Humbox and uploaded it to the Humax and all worked OK I have downloaded each setup file to keep just in case I make more changes and do some more damage.
The moral of the story is what shows on the TV screen is not allways whats in memory, and if your Humax is setup download the file so you can upload it again if you need to.
Thanks crew
