Humax IRCI 5400Z standards conversion

Can or does anyone have any ideas on standards conversion for the IRCI-5400Z. In other words, has anyone been able to change an NTSC signal to a PAL signal either through the software or some other way?

PAS 2 has a bit of NTSC programming on it (BBC World, YTN, NBN World etc) and so does PAS 8 ( Hallmark Taiwan and The Soundtrack Channel). Really annoying 30 frame per second stutter.

Have tried standards conversion downstream through the VCR and TV but to no avail.

Does your TV support NTSC? If it does you can load different software onto it so it outputs the NTSC channels in NTSC instead of "trying" to convert them to PAL. To do this you will have to get the box allcammed so you can load the software onto it.

I think his problem is prier to getting to the TV set.. Early model Humax had a lot of trouble with NTSC, If the receiver can't cope with the signal, it really does not matter , whats on the other side of the
R/F
I think Humax had a downloadable patch to counter this problem on there site, but as I don,t own a Humax [lucky me] I don,t have the problem.

ps the teve is basic basic, no NTSC no coms software inputs. Makes it difficult to experiment.

Have you looked at the Humax site,, There was a down-loadable patch
for NTSC on the 5400.
Again we suffer from other peoples cast-off's, The Humax was never interded to do C-band, There is very little C-Band in the Europian area that is watched my hobbyiest's, Therefore it was never a problem with then, and also it's a question of cost for the "Bean Counters".If they can release a receiver without some features, they save money..

Yeah Basset I'm learning fast. I had no idea that it was even a machine designed for the Europeans. This forum is good, at least I am starting to have an understanding of what is what. I bought the 5400Z because of its handling of Irdeto decryption, which i'm still yet to use (only been 1 1/2 years since I bought it).

I went to the local sat shop to look to see what they were using and just followed suit. Didn't buy from them, saved an absolute packet hunting around on the net and going through a Melbourne sat shop.

The Humax web site I thought is very ordinary and I couldn't find a patch but I will persevere as usual. Obviously didn't look hard enough (that's Fashion Tv's fault - Must be going blind!) Posted the question to them but the last question I asked them ages ago, they didn't even bother answering. We will see.

Thanks for your help, mate. Regards, Dane.
