I am a real big newbie and was looking at buying this box to watch indian channels etc... I have a disht setup, I think 2.7 or 3m and all the relevant stuff, just was wondering if I would be able to watch Indian channels with this receiver?

ps as I said I am a newbie and dont totally understand what 'smartcards' 'cams' etc... terms.

Cards and CAMs are not required for FTA satellite reception. You must find which services you want to view and determine the hardware required. You can then find from Lyngsat the available satellite footprints for your area. The Topfield is just one of many receivers available , not the best FTA receiver on the market , and is Irdeto imbedded. You must do some reading..... SODG.

Your topfield will only get you the FTA stuff, anything else will require a valid subscription,, or as I explained in my e-mail.
and your Topfield receiver is not capable of this...
