Hi,

I'm new to all these so please be patient with me. I got a satellite dish installed along with the receiver, DVBS2800A, Phoenix Brand. I was thinking to replace the yellow, red, white cable with the component to improve the resolution. I noticed that the receiver has a SCART connection

So I bought this: http://www.selbyacoustics.com.au/storefrontprofiles/DeluxeSFItemDetail.aspx?sid=1&sfid=74520&c=0&i=188072026

and it didn't work. I got the message from my Samsung LCD F8: 'Mode not supported'

Is there something wrong with it?

Cheers,

Seems strange...perhaps you need to enable the scart output in the menu??

The only menu that has to do with SCART is System Setting >> Video Output. According to the manual, I have to select RGB if I want to use SCART that supports RGB control otherwise select CVBS.

Still, it doesnt work...

I just notice that in the diagram of connecting to TV using SCART, it mentioned SCART on the TV side, does it mean it only allows SCART to SCART?

Remember that RGB and component are NOT the same thing. It is possible your decoder will do RGB and not component while your TV will do component but not RGB. The scart connection for both RGB and component is the same.
