I'm new to this stuff, and i've been presented with three decoders and i wonder which one i should take?
Phoenix DVB3600A
or
Star DVBS3880A
or
MAGIX MGX-7070
i'm leaning towards the Phoenix and Magix which are korean made, but which one is better? or it doesn't matteR?

Ok, I understand now...
Can't advise which actual one to get, as I have neither...perhaps an actual user will enlighten you more.
The receiver I told you of will accept a cam ( you put a smartcard in those for encrypted/ paid services), and it can also blind scan your satellites, downloading any viewable channels without the need of entering actual transponder details for each satellite....makes life easy.
However, good luck with what you get, and enjoy.

There will still be some stuff extra you can do with a box that doesn't blind scan depending on which satellite you are pointed at there is still some FTA channels you can load in manually using the frequencies listed on Lyngsat http://www.lyngsat.com/asia.html have fun now:)

Have to agree, there all so much junk, but if your buying a package. Why not suggest to the vender of the package, to improve his receiver line-up, or you will buy elsewhere.
But what does the package consist of, dish // receiver // sub-card, and more importantly, what are you paying for the pleasure.
