I have this model. Although I have never used this function, it has a wirelesss web server and ftp server. I don't know what this means. The manual says you can upload/download programs but I don't know where to or where from these filses/programs go. Could someone explain to me in simpler terms what this is and if it's worth while for me to set it up?

I haven't had the pleasure of playing with that box but surely they are referring to firmware upgrades

Initially I thought that too, but the manual says it can be used to upload/download recordings, but doesn't suggest to or from where.

to your computer! a good feature on a PVR, an essential one too.

Can't you do that through a usb cable? At the moment I don't think I have a need for it, but sometimes I wish I could record through the a/v instead of just the tuner, or transfer programs from my terestrial toppy (tf5000pvrt) to the satellite one (tf6000pvr). It'd keep my files separate from my wife's (she doesn't use the sat one)

I've been looking through the manual. It says I need an Access Point. What is that? Is it something provided by my internet provider?

I've worked out the access point is my wireless modem... still can't get it to run though.
