Hey all just wondering about the blind scan feature on the 4653X. Do you just go to what ever sat you want and hit scan or blind scan and then it brings up any channels available, even feeds? cos i got the 4652 at the moment and i always have to enter in feeds manually. I would much rather just go to the sat hit scan and boom instant feeds. Is this what happens?

yep. in x models, go to menu > installation > blind scan > select sat > press right > select polarity (all, v, h) > select mode (fta, radio,tv,all) leave frequency range for a normal scan > and go to press ok and hit ok > should bring up a list of TP's and then scan in the channels on them.

Providing your correctly alined to the satellite.

leave frequency range for a normal scan
Or restrict it to that of the target satellite, which will speed things up.

Heyguys. Got the 4653x today. $120 off ebay brand new. you beaudy!!. Just a quick question. With the blind scan, should i have sig quality on the bottom inidcator like when scanning in manually or auto? cos i aint got nothing!. plus it seems to take a while to blind scan. Not as quick as i thought it would be. Have i done something wrong? And will the blind scan pick up every TP on every sat or just feeds?

Blind scan will start with one polarity, checking for active TP's and S/R's, then when it hits 50% on the little round red thing up top right corner, it does the same, but on the other polarity. It will save these frequencies, and scan them all. Manually entering frequencies is much faster than blind scanning. I find that when manual scanning, i can't read the channel names, before it begins saving channels.

F***ING great decoder. I have more sig quality than i had on me 4652. Nearly everything is 80 -90 %. I have like 80% on B3 compared to when i was gettin 52-55% on the 4652. Will have to keep mucking with the blind scan i reckon.

As I said before, you can speed things up by restricting the upper and lower frequencies, when you know what's applicable for a particular satellite in a particular area. Scanning spectrum that a satellite isn't even equipped for is just wasting time. Ditto for polarity.

I thought the only diff between the 53 and 58 was that the 58 had the universal card reader, common interface for use with an Irdeto cam. ALl the other specs look the same. Thats why im suprised i gotta enter the PIDs through my comp program first.

i didn't have to use a computer on mine. it worked manually entering them.
