hey guys, ive gota Star CDVB2880A Reciever and a Vbox2 positioner.
I got 10 different satellites lined up with lotsa channels but how do i set it up so it will move to each satellite everytime i change channels?

I only got it to work to 4 satellites in my reciever using the LNB1 LNB2 LNB3 LNB4. Is that all my reciever can use to change satellites?

(the manual dont give alot or any decent information how to properly set it up)

Can anyone with experience help me please? thanks guys

Hi ch0cb0mb:

When I set up my Star 2880A to a Strong positioner for C-Band, the satellite positions on ,the V-box memory position has to be the same as the Motor Position on the Star 2880A, with (P-01) on the V-Box being either the lowest satellite from East OR West depending how you've set yours up.
eg: Telstar 10-MOTOR POSITION 1 on the Star and (V-Box displays P-01)
Thaicon 2-MOTOR POSITION 1 on the Star and ( " p-02)
Insat 2E -MOTOR POSITION 1 on the Star and ( " P-03)
until you get to
Intelsat 2-MOTOR POSITION 14 on the Star and ( " P-14)
The Star can only do from zero to 32 in the motor position values.
Therefore the memory values on you V-Box for each satellite must be re-saved from P-01 as your lowest satellite starting from East OR West on V-Box.

Hope this makes sense.
By the way, why are you using LNB 1-2-3-4(these are for fixed dish set-ups OR 2 to 3 LNB's on the one dish running via a diseqc switch) when you have a positioner.(mainly Ku)

Im assuming all your stored position on you V-Box are correct and your actuator is working property.

On the Star goto MENU--SATELLITE SETTING--EDIT SATELLITE (highlight the one you want then "OK" with remote.
Look for "Motor Position" and set the same memory number as your V-Box.
eg
If Apstar 6 is memory position P-09 on the V-Box, then set the motor position to 9 on the Star.
On the remote "AUDIO" button (RED) reveals MOVE, West Limit, East Limit, Goto Reference to fine tune the signal on your V-Box.
Exit and save.

Good luck.

hi Eunos. thank you for ur help.
I went to Satellite settings- Edit satellite.. but the "motor Position" is not there.
And i checked in all the settings and in the manual book and it is no where to be found. I am stumped!
Is there something i have to do to get the "motor Position" to come up?

i just found the "motor Position" =)
its in the Edit Transponder Menu.
When i try to set it up with the same position as the Vbox, the settings on the STAR motor position always says OFF whenever i come back to it.
Its like it doesnt save the motor position or its not comunicating with the vbox.
I dont know what im doing wrong!

Great to hear you got if working.

The Star can be a bit tricky...Bit slow on the blind scan BUT it finds everything apart from hidden pids.

On mine, the RED button on the remote (AUDIO) bring up the motor setting,
must be a firmware thing...

That's great...
