Best Blind Scan Box?

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on which box is the best for blind scanning?

There are probably as many opinions as there are forum members, but I'm happy enough with my Strong SRT 4658x's blind scanning ability.

I agree with Colin 2905. I have both a Manhattan 120 blind scanner and a Strong 4658x blind scanner and I prefer the Strong because of better picture quality, it's able to pick up Imparja off D1 and it has the ability to access hidden menus to gain things that are not talked about here.

Have a look in the decoder section as there is a few posted there. I reckon bang for buck a strong 4658x. I have one and I'm happy with it as it can do everything. the only downside is the scaning is a bit slow. If you are in a bit of a hurry i have my Southern Cross FTA box and it scans very quickly. Don't worry about the star as it's the slowest I have used.

I have a Star 2880A and its very slooow...about 23min +/- on FTA/CAS scan type and Detailed Scan on C-Band for IS2.(Note: this is a fta box only, but some channels, very few, are viewable even though they say scrambled.)

The Digicrystal SDS-01 is a FTA box but scans quicker (about 6 min on average) on IS2. This reciever has NIT on/off search mode and PIDs mod.

I've recently bought a Strong 4651X(FTA only), as Im setting up a H-H motor for Ku, It is personally the best value for money in Blind Scan unit together with the Strong 4658X(CARD READER).

At least you can optionally restrict the scanning range to some degree, and polarity, although the latter is only useful on a few satellites.

I settle for the 4658x,I've seen the Fortecstar and compare to the 4658x,there's no comparison,the Strong is the best one i've seen.

I have one a hss 760a blind scans in no time I want to get another.So far only found a site in Newzelund that has them.BTW it is only FTA decoder.

I wouldn't mind the new Hyundai if they were as widely available as the Strong 46xxx's,I read good reviews on this receiver..

I,ll throw in my 10c worth as fourx hss-760a great blind scan as mentioned done within 30sec/ maxplus2700s just as good an fast, ultraplus880 interesting unit, it is a little slower on blind scan than the two above but is complete, the blind scan feature reminds of my ex innovia that would would scan the satellite first then load all channels found, ultra firmware is nice.
