Greetings all,i was cleaning out some storage boxes when i found my ex UK pay tv
PACE MSS 100 series (MSS 138-G)analogue decoder that i purchased from AV-COMM Sydney way back in early 2001 for only $25 at the time . . . interesting to see when reading the specs. in the user manual ,to find that it's frequency range is 700-2150MHz (compared to the Humax 5400z 950-2150MHZ)
. . . . So can this box still receive anything from any of the satellites with footprints over Australia?
or can this box be used for other fun purposes eg comms receiver/scanner ? ;)
. . . . or is it now only good to use for a cat warmer,door stop,paper weight,landfill etc like the Pace DGT-400 ?

Last time I looked, Palapa C2 and Apstar 6 still had some analogue. But that was a while ago.

apstar 6 does. i may have one for stuffing around only, or used in conjunction with a downconverter/upconverter and a 2.4 GHz A/V receiver.

I think you will find the analogue programming on Apstar 6, is on a china beam, and not viewable here. 4 channels all chinese language,
CCTV 1, CETV 1, ZheJiang and Shandong.

Unfortunatly any Analogue transmissions are now extinct, as far as we are conserned. Which is a pity, as they were very helpfull in setting up a dish, and getting it spot on satellite.

They are on the C band there is no "china" beam on the Cband. They were still there six months ago when I checked.
I wonder if any Chinese firms still make analogue units. The Yanks are still use analogue on some of their satellites.

Thanks to All for your various replys,i don't know yet if i'll keep it or sell it ?
According to Lyngsat there are 4 FTA analogue channels on Apstar 6 @ 134E on the Asain beam,
with 37 EIRP(dBW) it says a 130 to 165cm minimum dish size is required for Brisbane.
