Does anyone have a copy of the Arion AF-3030 firmware or know where I can download it.

I am trying to return the box to standard removing the SelecTV firmware.

What Select firmware. If it's firmware, it,s an integral part of the receiver, And Select don't supply software. Any receiver will work providing the C** is the correct one or it's enbedded. So simply delete all the Select frequances, and it's gone.

I'm looking for any version of the AF-3030ci firmware. I obviously have a 3030 supplied by select tv. They have put their own firmware on it (modified for them) . This has card marying in it where the oem decoder does not.

It gets my gripe that they did this when you own the decoder. I can go along with a rented one doing this but not one you purchase.

Just another doorstop decoder for the collection

Hi, is it a 3030 or 3330? I have one that allows for input of hidden pids etc but then doesn't do anything with the results. I contacted the manufacturers regarding this matter and was informed that most receivers sent to Australia were for the SelecTV market. The firmware, as with most other SelecTV units is re-programmed to stop customers from losing their subscription channels easily by pressing too many buttons on the remote. This of course is no good for hobbyists etc and I made this clear in my communication with them. They finallyt agreed to supply the latest edition that should remedy 'My' problem.
The firmware update for the 3330 series can be found at. http://www.kristalelectronics.com/firmware.php
If this is not the one for you, drop this guy an email and direct your questions to him.

After explaining my problem he was quick and courteous in his reply.
Good luck!
P.S. I have not as yet loaded this new version to see whether it does fix things. Must get onto it shortly.

It is the 3030ci model as supplied with the select firmware. I have tried the fromware from kristalelectronics but it does not seem to load. Will try again tonight. And get in touch with the guy if that fails.

Thanks for your help

Hi 34by151, I too would like to unlock the Arion Selectv box. Have you managed to get it unlocked?. If so could please let me know. It's unfair that we can't use it for anything else...

Activate it with a valid Selectv card ... and it's no longer married i.e simply do the right thing ...... and all is well.

Activating with a Selectv card does not work. I had one working for 9 months and then decided to subscribe to Setanta sports. Needless to say the Setanta card did not work. Rang selectv and they told me some bulls**t about the setanta card not being compatible but it's just the receiver (AF3030ir) that is locked.

That's not bullshit. The Arion STB's that I've replaced with Strongs that have had the SelecTV card activated in them are locked to that card, although I haven't tried every card possible in them.

I have an Arion Selectv decoder and it does work flawlessly with a setanta card (5.3) as well as aurora (4.1). the boxes are married to the selectv card but they "divorce" as soon as the selectv card is enabled.

Ditto observation.

My Slectv decoder appears to be locked for some reason. I have an activated Setanta sports card that works fine on another receiver but gives me an error 17-13 on the Selectv decoder. I have tried updating the firmware provided by Krystal electronics with no luck (it does not update). Can anyone help?

did you use the selectv decoder with a selectv sub first?
if that's the case it should work with setanta

I was using the SELECTV with a SELECTV card/subscription for nine months. Just decided to get Setanta sports for the Euro 2008.

You can get the Setanta sports card through AAAcom for $30 for the card and then $14.95 per month for the subscription.
