guys,
I have been fooling around with the SA Powervu D9223. Still can't figure out how to set up channel manually if I know freq/pol/sr/pids...Testing with PowerVu muxes, it downloads the channels fine. It requires to lock on the signal, then one must key in transport stream ID and Bouquest ID.
Using dvb pci with program such as TSReader, I have no problem of find Transport stream ID but for the life of me..don't know the Bouquest ID.
When tuning to the PowerVu mux, look like the receiver automatically get the transport stream and Bouquest ID after it locks on the signal.
I have a D9234 as well, one can access to hidden menu using the remote to set up the channels manually.
thanks,
Michael

for the 9223 channel 0, menu, 2 sub services then 9 for installer menu. generally no need for bouquet or service ids.

menu, user, next, yes.....this will take you to the manual PID entry area...at line #9 I believe you can change between PVu mode/Non PVu mode/Fixed PID....if this helps at all

have tried without bouquet and service IDs, it locks on the signal at channel 0 but does not load all channels on the mux. I am talking about fta non-powervu here. I am not under impression that not all uplinker have all info in the stream that is requirement for the receiver to pull in all channels, something similar to the "map" in DC2.

Krapola,
Menu, user...does nothing..
Must be in this sequence: Menu, 2, 9. In #9 Installer Menu, there are 3 submenu but none has option like "powervu/non-powervu/fixed Pid.
Perhaps different firmware have different option..just happens that mine does not have this option..my hope is it has but I have not found it yet...:)
without disable Powervu, in order to pull in the channels, it requires to key in Network ID and Bouquest Id that is available for some of the PowerVu muxes on lyngsat.
With correct Network ID and Bouquest ID key in, I am able to get all channel for the mux, still blacksreen for encrypted one, but able to view the non-encrypted channels.
The key here is to get the channels loaded, in order to do that, one must know Bouqest and Network ID.
For the non-PowerVu mux, one must disable PowerVu mode that somehow I have not found a way to do that...I am tuning my receiver on one of the PowerVu mux on IS9 (former Pas9), hopefully it updates the firmware.
thanks all.

dtsexpert,
The CCP and DCP via IS9(if it is tsp 10C) are not active...Also, if you perhaps to find the downloader active at one point, you must follow a procedure or your IRD could become disabled....

thanks for your help. I am able to access to the submenu that has the option of "Powervu/Non-PowerVu/Fix Pids".
Googling I found the operational manual for the D9223 as well, so in case anyone here needs, please let me know.
Using Non-PowerVu, it loads the FTA DVB channels just fine. Fix Pids is also useful for setting channels manually if one knows the pids and pcr.
Well, I did that with a hope to have the option of PowerVu/Non-PowerVu/Fixed Pids.
Every thing works fine now. Key must be pressed in sequence correctly...:)
I spent couple hours last nite over here to tune in all PowerVu channel available in N.America with a hope that the receiver is authorized for couple channels overhere..:), and it did..just for one channel...:)
Kind of supprised..not a really interesting channel but better than nothing.
thanks,
Michael
