I recently purchased a used strong 4892 decoder. It works well except for one thing - when I have tried to load the settings for Intelsat 2 , C Band
3901H 30,800 it does not work

However, when I swap the cable over and place it into my older decoder (strong 4800II) with the same settings, it works fine, signal strength 58%.

Anyone got any suggestions? Surely I must be missing something obvious/doing something wrong??
cheers.

When you say "doesn't work" - do you mean the receiver will not accept the numbers, or after setting the details you get no Quality reading on the transponder ?

If the details are entered correctly you might try 30780 or 30850 etc., for the SR - the receiver may be a bit off.

You might also try changing the receiver frequency up or down a few MHz in the same test style.

If all this fails your receiver may not respond to SRs above 30000 - it won't be the first receiver to do this.

Some early Fortec firmware versions would not resolve SRs above 30000, most receiver software is written with the Northern Hemisphere in mind where such high SRs are rare, it is possible a firmware exists for your 4892 which will behave.

Is Satellite memory full?

Try deleting a few of the Northern hemisphere satellites, or try editing one of the birds that have no use on our side of the world.

cheers

what i meant was that the quality reading was zero.
