I bought one of those Southern Cross FTA receivers. It works ok I suppose. Didn't scan in Al or Imp but could cludge them in. Needing a channel to modify I wanted to scan in a TP and then change the pid etc. But when selecting a TP it also selects the FEC for you which is not like what is listed in Lyngsat ie 3/22 instead of 3/4 and same with the symbol rate it has some wacky looking ones like if it's suppose to be 30000 it comes up with 29940. You can't change them but you manage to scan in something that you can modify sucessfully. Is this normal? Can you change these settings as per Lyngsat on other receivers?

Thanks,
Leroy

well, the discrepincy in the S/R is normal on some recievers, like my star 2880a, but the FEC errors might just be a quirky feature. if it works it works!
