Strong 4653 and 4651 differences

Hi,

Just wondering what the differences are between a 4653 and a 4651? What mod is done to a 4651 to bring it up to the same spec as a 4653 and is it then exactly the same?
I was buying for a friend what I was told was a 4653 and a 4651 arrived. I have seen on Ebay the 4651 upgraded to the 4653.

Strong technologies web site is informative and explains 4651 no card reader 4653 has a cardreader but check yourself

I have a strong 4651 up graded to a 4653 when i bought it and I think all they do put a plugin card slot in it and reprogram the 4651 to a 4653 at the factory. Maybe they made to many 4651s so they modified them and I find mine OK.

thanks guys. I downloaded the manual for the 4651 and yes no card reader. I thought there may of been a little more to it.

There is. The first version of the software in the modified ones did not activate cards for select but the latest one does. I had to take a 4651-3 (with card reader) back to get the upgraded software

I just compared the software with a 4653 and it's the same version. The boot and CH are different though. I have been watching select with an already activated card. I haven't activated the card that came with it yet.

Can't remember exactly but I think the old one was 11/2005.
