Anyone used or heard about these new Receivers?
Made in Germany i believe and from specs/reports it seems like a great
receiver. A copy of a video review from DR Dish is available here:
http://vantage-digital.com/download/werbung/drdish.zip (33mb)
From the review Christian claims the reciever picks up 30% more channels than any other reciever on the market. Hmmm.. interesting..
The review is for the combined DVB-T, dVB-S unit but standard satellite versions are available in various combos ie FTA, 1 card 2 ci... etc
I may take the plunge and invest in one..
Let me know what you think
Cheers

The name does ring a bell, BUT what you have to also consider is the fact that magazine Editors // reviewers are the slaves of the dollars as far as advertising revenue is conserned. So they will dress up reviews to apease the product owner // advertiser
The WOT group of magazines are well known for this. It was once said that you could walk into a magazine editors office, with a dead corn flakes box, tell the guy it was a new Hi-end product, Give them a cheque for 25 grand, to cover three issues of advertising, and could they make your dead corn flakes packet, "product" of the year.
No one gives a bad review when advertising dollars are at stake. And the way they get away with it is in the small print, They print a disclaimer, saying that the review is the opinion of the reviewer, not the magazine.
So if the thing does go pair shaped, Blame the reviewer.

I dunno, but it does beg the question " how many IMPALA'' can you fit in a corn flakes packet .
You will find the missing 30 channels in the radio section of your receiver.
Next question,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,shit I,m sharp tonight.
never mind Sliggy, some of us still lov you. :D :D :D :D

Ok let me decrypt my comment and add some.
"Can anyone tell me how to load Impala on a corn flakes packet?"
means:
If people rush out to buy that one then finding out "how to" will be the burden for those who pioneer the way.
"Also I have all 100 channels but can't seem to get the thirty more."
means:
How can it get 30% more channels if they are not there to get?
Now look at the specifications. 90 to 245V. I have frequently measureed the mains voltage around Canberra above this! Remember Europe is 230V.
Having Blind scan in steps from 1 to 5 MHz is good. It should find more than the st120! I did the simple experiment with the ST120 of deleting all on D1 except Imparja and the ST120 started at 12250 did not find SC7 because of the 8MHz steps.
Having twin scarts is good, -75dBm is 10 dB better than some on the input signal level. Sadly it only seems to be a SD terrestrial box.
