thinking of buying a humax IrcI 5400Z with an input symbol rate of 2-31MS/s . Could that be a problem ??although it seems to cover most transponders Marty

no problem with that-the only thing the humax will not do,
is automatic searching-otherwise no problem.
have a good day:D

Humax hav always had this problm with the low symble rates,, but there are only a couple of srvices that use a high symble rate..
I really don't understand why anyone would want to buy a dated receiver like a humax,, Even with the latest TUX software. When you can get a Fortec for the same money...
I missed your call this morning I will ring you tonight,, baz

Most other boxes like the Manhattan, Topfield, & Strong that I have go up to 45MS/s.
I would steer away from low S/R boxes in case you need higher.
Measat2 @148.0e Ku uses 41500 s/r just as an example.

Humaz5400Z has a Auto Search function in their MENU.
(Manual -Page 8- p6.2.1 refers to Auto Search
It is not a blind scan, it is a rescan function of all the loaded freqs on the Humax5400Z
It will only search (what is loaded in the Humaz5400Z.receiver.by the manufacturer).
But, I like a Manual search for each transponder
It is short n sweet.

Many thanks for the replys but it seems humax receivers do have other problems apart from the symbol rate so I shall steer clear of them Thanks Marty
