Hi, I currently have a Humax 5400Z which works quite well. I have been reading about blindscan and as a result am looking for a decoder for this. The Fortec 5100 appears a good option.

I am wondering how it compares to the Humax. Is it better? they both have card slots but I do not know about the technical aspects. I want to pick up what the Humax does currently and have blindscan functionality as well.

Thanks
Mark

I also note that the Fortec has UCAS embedded (not technical enough to know what that means) while my Humax has Iredto embedded. Can someone please explain the difference?

UCAS = Using for piracy using keys etc... (Not to be discussed on this forum)

I used to have a humax 5400z and I like the fortec 5100 ultra. The humax is a great box but it doesn't blind scan so I got rid of mine a few years ago. The only downside of the fortec is it has problems driving a motech ku dish mount when you use a universal lnbf (unless a firmware update has fixed this?). It works fine with a motorized c band dish in conjunction with a vbox positioner.

I would definately recommend it if your looking for a blind scan receiver.
