I am just looking for a cost of Scienticfic Atlanta Sat receiver in Australia.
Because ABC-AsiaPacific has stated that if u want to watch FTA signals from ABC-AsiaPacific u need a Scienticfic Atlanta Satr Receiver.
They also stated it is not cheap.
Your help will be highly appreciated.

Not sure that statement is correct. I saw ABC A/P on PAS8 C band, (I think) while trying to align my dish & it was FTA.
Maybe one of the Guru's can advise more accurately.
As for the receiver, I saw one at Melbourne Satellites a couple of months back, I'm guessing that it was around $3,000AUD. (Can't remember exactly)
I'm sure others on this forum have watched the ABC programs FTA & I'd venture that they do not use Scientific Atlanta receivers (Power VU)??

If you read the item correctly you will see its only for people in FIJI where FIJI TV/Sky Pacific service has the rugby rights.
Or they will give you a FREE SKY Pacific system!! and let you watch it!

There is no reason why powerVu will be implemented on ABC Asia pacific programming.. Scientific Atlanta, is the pay providers receiver, and general use is VERY expencive, look at the problems with take up, Aurora had on Pas 2. Which is now folded.
perhaps Fiji TV or whoever they might be, had there wires crossed, and should have said that there feeds would be via SA and powerVu., to prevent anyone attempting to get there service for free,
But Jo Public, will not be asked to fork out mega dollars for professional receivers, and i doubt the pay provider will want the bill, They will more then likely use a chopped down $25 chinese Clone
