Uec 642

I have a UEC 642 decoder and was wondering is there any software out there to control the decoder via the comm port or modem port on the rear of the machine

Is it a Multichoice, There is some software for the Multi choice but I,m unsure if the standard UEC has anything available.

What are you trying to do that requires a software rewrite.

Be very carefull what you load via the RS 232 port, if the program is not compaterble, you will turn your receiver into a Door Stop, also once you over write the original software, its gone for good and any warrenty is void.

i also have a uec 642 i was wondering if it is any good for anything else other than a pay TV box or Aroura

unfortunately,that's where the 642 is good for,however there are a dozen religious channels on B3 u can use it on to watch and some on D1.
There maybe a lot of good FTA channels that might be on the pipeline once D2 is up and running..
These UEC 642 have good picture quality and they would only work on channels with symbol rate of 15,000 to 30,000.
