Yes, I bought one 4620 and I will never buy 4620 again.

But one must a efficient after sales service to make it work.
I have heard that 4820 is better, it has one CI slot for Irdeto cam and card.
But it costs about $A450. ex shop in Brisbane.

no.Most of the new receivers have a auto search for each satellite, but it will only seach what is installed on the unit, when it was manufactured.say 2/3 years ago.
Try go to Lyngsat website and printout the Satellite listing and install all the favouriates on the Receiver, then do a auto search, then u will have all the channels to your likings-fav.

I have a Strong 4800 II. I bought it direct from strong in Melbourne 12 months ago. It was a run out model. I needed it as the 4600 series does not have a skew control to suit my ADL Feed. I not sure if the software is the same but I can type in whatever LO I need. eg 11300 ,10600 etc for KU or 5150 for Cband.

Fror ku , select Uni, if your using a universial LNB install 9750 low 10600 high.
if useing standard Ku LNB install 11300 in both.

I got confused about the same qustion and have been using wideband instead of Uni. Does it matter?
Is there any way to enter pids on this one?

Strong 4620 DSReceivers automatically selects its own PIDs.n it is always the accurate(current) PIDS.

Thanks Jpsoni. Have found a place to enter pids with ch list and white buton. I will try it on IMP and RT later on.

Good, that is good, we all are still learning about decoders n its operations techniques.
Thanks- this is where the Vetrun Forum helps us to help others.

The Pids did enter ok after scaning in another channel first. If there are no ch's in the unit then it won't let you get to that Add ch menu.
IMP and RT both work ok now but the reception from this box is not as good as some of the others. Had to give the LNB skew a bit of a tweak to get IMP stable last night.
The bigger problem seems to be with Russia Today. After running on this channel for a while the decoder seems to accumulate an error. Fast changing pictures seem to pixelise in large blocky movements. Turn the power off and on again and all is well for another half an hour or so.
Not sure now if it's this box alone or a common problem.
