Optus Aurora is NOT FTA. I can help with the basic setup on the receiver as I have the same unit. currently it is being used as a backup doorstop. :)

If you are trying to get Aurora, which is NOT FTA, I can't help you. This forum is for FTA only.

Every box is different. As Simmo have not closed this thread, I am assuming he have OKed your line of questions. You are on C1? My Nokia is a 9660S, same as yours? We will need a bit more information like how the nokia is wired to the dish etc.

You don't have a manual for the receiver? If your other receiver sharing the same dish?
What sort of problem are you having? Problem setting up the LNB settings in the preference screen? Problem searching for the Aurora channels? Let us know where you are having problem with your setup?

Are you having any problem with your remote? Mine is not very responsive at all. As in you can press but no signal would get to the receiver. Remote problem is the main reason it becomes a backup "doorstop".

If your going to help this bloke, Could i suggest that firstly , you ascertain what type, and sort of SOFTWARE, it is loaded with, as with Nokia, different software can change the way things are loaded, and also dofferent operations of the remote..
Nokia where far advanced of there time, in design and operation, but as there software is something like 12 years old, other receivers have pasted them by, in operation, But I have been told that "Triple Dragon" could operate in them or part there-off. This is uncomfermed , so don,t load it and then complain to me.
But it could be true, the same bloke that gave the world DVB 2000, also designed the TD.

9660's and 9800's got weak tuners,unlike it's predeccesors-the 9200's and 9600's.
They are good for Europe + ME where the sat signal is very strong.

Agreed, but for C1 use it should be fine. I have a project on this morning. Will give you a step by step instructions later today. You need to go into the preference menu and make changes there. Do you have the password to get in?

See if this helps,,
switch on,, load in PIN 1234, click yellow button, down button to "installation"
Click antenna configuration, sat name unimportant, just make sure your frequance is set on 11300 or 10700, depending on type of LNB. green button exit out. Go down to channel search, click, channel search, click load in frequance details.. exit, exit exit, [green button]
Now this is important, IF there are no frequances loaded, and the thing is blank, You will need to go down to "First time Instalation"
Depending on the software,, everything except DVB 2000, you will need to set the thing on Asiasat 2,, Yes , Yes, trust me.. just don,t worry. assume your on Asiasat, and set the thing on Search,, Let it churn away, until it tells you search complete and nothing found, It will now allow you to complete all the stuff I have detailed above..
let us know , how you went..
