Hi,
I Am considering buying a PVR, Xtreme 520 looks decent on specs. Just wanted to get some opinions from the experts here... is this a decent product; are there any known issues? What would be the best place to buy in Melbourne (or on the net)?
thanks,
Ritesh

i have one ,it works well, but if i wanted to buy again, i would choose one that had twin tuners, (the extreme only has one tuner) so you can record a channel while watching another, mine came with 80 gig drive, brought it from hotchip in sydney, i have got 2 without pvr feature that sometimes freezes

i have 2 xtreme's both based on the ***-520 series , those being an xtsc-520 and an xsc-520 , both had software glitches when i purchased them which ould cause them to freeze , but after a software update they both perform well , i only wish i had purchased the pvr version instead of the standard xsc-520 , although if i had my time again i would probably choose something different all together , maybe the DGstation Relook 3000 twin tuner PVR , check it out at the site sponser

I have the xsc-520. The only issues I have with them is the clock, but it hasn't seemed so bad of late. I have also have a problem with menus sometimes not displaying properly (overlay without any text), but this only occurs when I'm doing large amounts of channel changing and feed finding. Putting it back to stand-by and on again fixes it. I have had mine on 24x7 since Auguest 03.

Hi,
One more question, is there any relation between Xtreme and Kaon (as companies)? Specifically, Xtreme 520h and Kaon 570H (the DVB-T PVR)?
Just being careful, as the Kaon unit is not getting rave reviews and wanted to ensure that they are not related...
anyone?
thanks

Kaon is Xtreme. Same thing. Kaon is the company that makes the xtreme brand.
