I'm planning to add an HDD to an Xtreme XSC-520. I have seen the board supports an HDD. I've seen some info on a site with pictures and an howto doc to add the HDD. But my board if different version 2.7 as aopposed to 2.1

I was hoping someone with an XSC-520H to open their box and take some piccies of the board esp. around the HDD. I've tried searching on Google but there is nothing on that model. The hornet 520anv is the same as XSC-520 so anyone with an hornet PVR is also free to put some piccies.

Thanks sjdtmv. The date watermark on the photos say that these were taken on 10th Jan 2002. Is that correct? and what model is this?

Also could you take a picture of the smps, the power supply I mean. I would like to know where the power to HDD is comming from.

Cheers

Looks like an extra sdram chip and a few buffers are added.
There could be some stuff under the pcb as well.
You probably would have to flash the frimware too.
