So where to buy Kaon products in Australia or elsewhere?
Then you tell us you
Since the warranty period has expired on my Xtreme STB, maybe it is time to take a peak inside! :-)
Somethings strange here mate   You wouldn't be advertising now, would you???? Or maybe your just confused about what your doing.

Confused! I certainly am. They were two different threads. How did they merged into one??? .... so I deleted the Xtreme HDD messages from this Kaon thread.
Advertising - no, never. Just a poor old wage earner who just wants to upgrade, or buy the latest ..... but no one seems to want to sell.
In future, if I find info that could remotely be of interest to other forum members, should I think twice about sharing it, for fear of being accused of advertising? :-)

When you go to so much trouble to post what you posted and then go on to say where can I get them and then say I have one, it seems as though your either confused or advertising.
I left your information their was no need to delete it or did you not want members to see what you posted?
Your thread was merged into this one to highlight your confusing contradictory posts.
I didn't say you were advertsing, I asked if you were confused OR advertsing. Seems your just confused

Yes I am still confused, and no, I was not advertising. What contradictory posts?
One thread was about fitting a larger HDD to my Xtreme XSC-520H and the other was about the Kaon KVR-1000Plus.
Yes, I have one machine, but would like to buy the other.
The Xtreme XSC-520H info was deleted because I couldn't understand how the two threads merged. I didn't realise you had done it.
Why is having a XSC-510H and asking where I can get a KVR-1000Plus contradictory? .... but, you are the moderator, so who am I to question why! :-)

That wasn't me. 'theslydog' posted the price in the 4th message above. If I could find who sells the KVR-1000plus, either in Australia or Europe, yes I will bring one in .... but only one. I am NOT a reseller ... where is this all coming from??? Grrr!! ..... :-) .... I am just a poor sat hobbyist.
The KVR-1100 Combo sounds like a better options - similar features but does DVB-S and Aus DVB-T, but no remote internet access.

You can question me all you like, I'm not untouchable. I have to follow rules just like everyone else.
Your original post asked "who sells Kaon???" You then said you had a KAOn unit aka Xtreme, so to me that means you know who sells kaon,YOU BOUGHT ONE. You even posted the link. So either your ultra confused or you just don't understand that if you bought an xtreme then the only place your gunna get the KAON is from the same place you bought it. Kapish!
Hence, why I asked the original question......in simple terms what are you thinking mate? :) Now you almost have me confused.
If your not advertsing then post all the confused crap you like....

I understand completely... I think ;)
I dunno who sells em Price of $1500 was converted from Euros so who knows how much. If u want one send em an email. Most companies usually email back.
There is also a new one by Reel Multimedia PVR 1100 that also looks good - runs Linux but it has dual removable tuner modules and a removable DVD ROM that can be replaced with a burner and also a removable HD.

I was thinking to get one or similar but I will prolly just get a standalone PVR that has a DVD burner in it and analogue inputs that I can plug in a sat Rx.
I might get a Jap one as I only record NTSC so it wont matter. I have a converter to convert Pal to NTSC if I want anyway. This Hitachi has a 400gig HD and a HiVision BS CS tuner and a BCAS card slot not that it much good here. It also has a burner to burn all formats. Hooks to the net as well.

Re the Kaon KVR-1000Plus, early last week I rang a Sydney dealer of Kaon. They only sell two Kaon models and they are both DVB-T. They don't intend selling the KVR-1000Plus at this stage.
So I e-mailed Kaon asking who sells the KVR-1000Plus in the UK or Australia but haven't received a reply.
From a Google search of several German Satellite dealer sites it would appear that this model has not even been released in Europe. Several sites still say "coming soon".
The KVR-1000Plus was reviewed in Tele-Satellite International Magazine Issue 06/07-2004. It has also been advertised on the rear of each of the last five issues. The latest issue (10/11-2004) lists 4 models ..... KVR-1000P, S, T and Combo.
So, I give up. Where is it? :-)

E-mail the factory and tell them you want to order 50.000 of the buggers, and can they supply you with a retail outlet.. Click send e-mail. Wait 5 minutes or less and click any new e-mails. Answer will be there.

Re the Kaon KVR-1000Plus
I have heard that the firmware is not that fantastic and a bit buggy. :(
May be better to hold off buying one for a bit longer...

Thanks 'the slydog'. The Sydney Kaon dealer I contacted told me the same thing. Maybe the firmware problem is the reason the machines are a long time coming ... it is nearly 8 months since the first ad appeared in Tele-Satellite magazine!
The specs seem to have changed - RMCS (internet access) is now a feature of the KVR-1000Plus and KVR-1100Combo, and an option on the KVR-1000S and KVR-1100T - see back page of Tele-Satellite 10/11-2004.

There are quite a few comments on the KVR-1000Plus in the Kaon forum at .

It looks like Kaon is finally responding to user complaints about the buggy software in this machine.

B4 I buy another Sat receiver I will wait to see what the new Dreambox DM7085s is like. This receiver will have a HD, DVD burner, swapable dual tuners so u can have 2 sat ones, 2 terrestrial ones or one of each. The new tuners are Philips - they have replaced the old LG ones that were not that sensitive.
This is due for release by Christmas in Europe.

I reckon it will be hard to beat if it goes as well as the current DM7000s.
