OK. I've posted some bodgy/half baked channel lists until now. :p

This one has no channels, just TP's. The only channel included is Imparja for B1 to save you entering it.

It works on both 5100 Plus+Ultra and Liftetime Ultra

See below, I've removed the file in here as it was outdated

New channel list includes Thaicom2/3 and still the imparja chanels for B1. I've also taken some of the crap out that we cannot get.

I've included the tool "Gtools" that you use to edit and load the file.

Added bonus cause I'm in a good mood :) you'll also find a Newbies guide for those that have never tried it before.

This will work on the 5100 plus+ultra and the lifetime ultra, both models.

Good work Yalickit, I am using Gtools and find it very useful even without a Fortec receiver. I get a dot gtd file sent down from simmo and have found many useable services which simmo finds with his Fortec, and my Powtek does not find in blind-scan. I then enter the appropriate numbers into other receivers here and get viewable results. Many services are not listed at Lyngsat and may be fleeting feeds but this information is very useful. A Fortec is perhaps soon to be purchased, but the idea of a bigger dish appeals more at this stage...........

It certainly is a good piece of software.
Once I am hapy with my C-band set up, I will be doing this scan weekly. Currently I can get NSS5 thru Thaicom 2, but I want more!! The scan I send Ocean has the latest changes I have found with the Fortec.
If members want, I can put together a mailing list, and send this file to whoever wants it.
Obviously some of the stuff in the file, you wont be able to get, and conversly you may have stuff I cant get, but its a good indicator.
The best option is for you to buy your own Fortec, but this may assist those that haven't got one ...yet!!!
Email me at simmo@vetrun.com with Vetrun Mailing list in the subject line, and I will add you to the list if you want.

As my Lifetime Ultra is "in the mail", so to speak, I decided to prepare for its arrival.
I downloaded & un-zipped the file & when I went to open GTools, an "unknown error" was reported by Windows (98se). Clicking on the OK of the error report opened GTools but without the top bar which contains the "file, edit", etc keys.
Have I done something wrong, or is there a known glitch?
Thanks,
Wal

NO keys.

Just click ok on the error and it opens the window you should see file etc. works ok here on xp?

Yep, did that. "Toolbar" is the name of what's missing.
Tried three downloads, using two different systems, only thing common is Win98se.
Did you also get the error, or is it clean & complete with toolbar on xp?

That error is there all the time, dunno why some smart bugger hasnt fixed it!!
Just do as above, click ok.
Gtools is used to either upload, or download, your satellite list.
The AP file, gets rid of hotbird etc, and has the AP sats in it.
No doubt, when you download the AP file, it will be out of date. But it gives you a start, to power scan the sats that are there.
I'm in the same boat now, Fortec is dead, and need to reload stuff.

It appears that Gtools is designed to use SatcoDX. If you create a new folder (in where ever you have gtools) & call it "SDX", it will load everytime without an error. The new folder can be completely empty.

This will be a problem for me. Gtools is also designed to be used with Win xp. I use 98 se & am totally happy with it. I see no reason to move to xp.

Looking at SatcoDX's site, it appears to be more detailed than Lyngsat. Any thoughts along those lines?

Satcodx is the norm for satellite TP transfer on most decoders. It's updated by various satcodx receiving stations around the globe. Lyngsat relies on emails from people.

Ok, if you didn't already know it, Gtools will run with Win98. If you right click your mouse in the "Satellite" column, you will get a drop down menu with all the commands, etc.
Same goes for the other columns, right click in the particular column & you get a drop down suited for that column.
So, I'm happy, I can load without an error & it looks as though I will be able to use it for my new Fortec, when it turns up!

Hello, i use channel master, and not gtools. i stopped using gtools, as it is not compatible to pansat 2700, 2700 is stb type 4, and gtools only goes up to type 3.

i got a decent channel list on my receiver, done by channel master, it is fast and very reliable,

gtools is a win98 module, not compatible to xp,as in the error. tim

No...Gtools is compatable with XP,
And if you wish, I think, you can indicate what decoder type you are looking at!
Type 3 is something like 5k channels!! unless your not deleting the shit every now and again, why on earth would you need more?
Plus, what is a pansat? some genetic fortec?...dont answer that! Welcome to vetrun!!
