have a slight problem
first moteck died so i thought checked and changed nearlly everything.
came to the conclusion that my humax was dead
pulled the unit out of cabinet and (holly hell the prick bit me a goodn) any way benched tested the output and now has power
it must of had a stactic short must had reset the box some how because there was no lnb out put in the wall unit
anyway now the moteck works but dont get any signals
so back up on the roof check getting power to lnb
bypassed the moteck changed lnb's
nothing
so back to the humax
any ideas

There is a supply resistor on the power supply board which can get hot when LNB supply is shorted by crook connector etc. I have seen these resistors with dry joints caused by heating/cooling of this component. Check this by removing the power supply PCB - while supply is out it is best to replace all the electrolytics in the supply to prevent carastrophic failure later. Use 105°C electrolytic capacitors for long life.......**edit**
But then I read your post again and the Motek works - so there is obviously 12/18 V out of the Humax. Crook lead from Motek to LNB ?

does you have a list of caps needed

No I don't have a list - and I have no supplies here at the moment to read them off. I have a box of these caps and I pull the ones as required. Caps are available from WES Components - some of the caps in Humax are rated 50V but only 63V caps are available which is fine as the new caps are physically smaller. If you read them off the PCB I can send them to you.

List of parts you will need: = Use 105 degree caps not 85
C09 1000uF 16v
C10 1000uF 16v
C13 1000uF 25v
C14 1000uF 25v
C15 470uF 25v
C16 470uF 25v
C17 220uF 50v
C18 220uF 50v
C19 100uF 50v
C20 100uF 50v
C21 1uF 50v
R21 100 Ohm You can use a 0.25w but I used a 0.6w
ZD3 30v Zener Diode 1.3w
this is the list they say to change
also got the psu diagram if ya want a copy

Might be an Idea to send the Power Supply over to Ocean, let him repair it..

Apparently - replacement power supplies are available for $32.50 but this may not include post. I am not sure if the replacement power supplies have the higher temperature specification capacitors supplied - they certainly should be ! I can repair it if you want to send it here and it will have the better capacitors fitted , or PM for capacitors to be supplied. ( cheaper ! )

just got my original humax 5410 back , strange how they find their way home when they don't work properly , i need to call on all you humax experts with its problem , it only has 54 tv channels stored in memory , no radio channels stored , when a manual search is performed it finds all channels on desired sat but when you go to save them into memory , service limit reached, pops up and does not allow any new channels to be saved . any help would be greatfully appreciated
